Historic artifacts in DCHA's collections now - and in the future - are at risk of deteriorating and being lost to posterity.
DCHA has been collecting historic artifacts concerning Delaware County for over three quarters of a century. The current administration, archives, gallery and collections storage building was built in 1977 -78. The collections storage is overflowing. To enable DCHA to continue collecting and preserving for the future generations we are asking for your help.
DCHA has embarked on a multi-year effort to construct an approximately 8,000 square foot collection facility with state-of-the-art preservation capacity for the purpose of housing DCHA's expanding collections. This will be a permanent addition built on land behind our existing library and archives building. It will be designed to last and be utilized for decades. The preservation of thousands of irreplaceable artifacts of inestimable value will exert a significant impact on the ability of historians, writers, scholar and researchers to understand the past and support the future.
